Benzema named Champions League player of the tournament, as Vinicius takes young player award


Karim Benzema was named the Champions League player for the 2021-22 season after helping Real Madrid win their 14th title.

Benzema also won the tournament’s Goal of the Season Award for a great header with Chelsea in the quarters, and his teammate Vinicius was named the young player of the season.

The duo contributed to Madrid’s run until Saturday’s final in Paris. where Vinicius’ strike was enough to win against Liverpool.

Benzema led the European goal score chart with 15 goals, 10 of which were in the knockout stage.
The Ballon d’Or favourite this season has been the focus of a dramatic comeback victory in Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City.
