Striker Robert Lewandowski said “the story is over” in Bayern Munich, seeking a transfer from the German champions this summer.
Lewandowski said earlier this month that Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic had announced that the 33-year-old player would like to leave, although he has one year left on his contract.
Lewandowski is closely linked with the move to Barcelona.
“There is one thing for sure today. My journey with Bavarian is over,” he said.
Regarding his international mission with Poland, he added: “I realized that transfer was the best solution for both sides.”
Lewandowski joined the club from Borussia Dortmund in 2014, won the Bundesliga eight times in 2020, and won the Champions League.
He has scored 50 goals in 46 Bayern games this season and 344 goals in 375 games in eight years, second only to Gerd Müller in the club.
